AHI Medical Assistant (MA) Program

This is one of the fastest growing allied health careers in the United States. Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks within medical offices to assist physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and other health practitioners and keep their offices running smoothly. Duties of the Medical Assistant vary, depending upon the specialty and the size of the practice. Administrative duties for Medical Assistants include patient correspondence, completion of insurance forms, filing of medical records, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and arranging for hospital admission, laboratory services, billing, coding and bookkeeping.  This field is expected to grow as advances in medicine expand and the population grows and ages. In fact, this is anticipated to be the fastest growing health care job through 2014.
